Project “Regional Youth Discussion Club”
It is more than 20 years that Karabakh is in “no war, no peace” situation. In the post-war era the current state has negatively impacted on the youth from the conflict region by emerging and deepening a gap among them, promoting the formulation of new stereotypes and enemy perception as well as radicalization of views.
To find ways out of the current situation, to urge constructive discussions among the youth from the conflict region as well as to discuss the possible options of solution proposed by mediator-states involved in the settlement process NGO “Public Diplomacy Institute of Artsakh” in partnership with NGO “European Integration” and “3rd View” Think Tank implemented the project “Regional Youth Discussion Club”.
This project was implemented with the assistance of the European Union in the framework of the initiative The European Partnership for the Peaceful Settlement of the Conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh (EPNK).
The project “Regional Youth Discussion Club” foresaw a creation of a club the participants from borderline territory – youth, representatives of youth organizations and university students from the region of the Karabakh conflict. In the framework of the project young people from Armenia, Karabakh and Azerbaijan were able to discuss the sharpest issues around the Karabakh conflict (NK status, return of refugees and internally displaced people to their homes of origin, positioning of peacekeeping troops along the line of contact) that took place through three parallel Skype-discussions and was completed by a joint meeting to be held in Tbilisi. All the events of the project were also attended by experts from the spheres of discussed topics.
