French Minister of Education Forms a Group to Examine Genocides and Mass Crimes

Minister of National Education and Higher Learning of France Najat Vallaud-Belkacem formed a group to examine genocides and mass crimes in order to have the best understanding of them and fight against their denial and repetition, Nor Haratchreports.

This mission, which is being created a year after the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, is entrusted to historian and General National Education Examiner Vensan Tivclair.

It will be headed by a 46-member group comprised of citizens of 12 different countries. The members of the mission are history, social sciences and anthropology researchers, educators and lecturers of secondary or high schools, lawyers, journalists and psychoanalysts.

The newly created group will draft a bulletin about genocides and mass crimes to make it easier for people to understand and will benchmark new ways for prevention of genocides and mass crimes. The mission will submit its conclusions next year.
