Dare to be a Changemaker

Talking about youth activism and expressing our greatest wish in it is perhaps nothing new and difficult. However, it is a bit difficult to start acting towards realizing that wish, or at first turning it into a goal and then striving towards it.

Just recently I’ve taken part in a youth training “Young People as Changemakers” organized by Cooperation and Development Network Eastern Europe (CDN). The latter is aimed at supporting green youth organisations from Eastern Europe through non-formal education, trainings and other activities and deals with such topics as human rights, gender, democracy, non-violence, social justice, green economy and ecology. During the abovementioned event I saw many young people not only participating in a subsequent training but those also wishing to suggest and take concrete steps towards an active involvement in building better future for their country, for themselves. For a successful outcome most of the participants highlighted the need for everyone to start with himself/herself…

I should mention that today we do have an active youth who try to have their say in different spheres of the life: in politics, IT, sports and so on. However, I think the process should be intensified and it should be carried out by the older generation by current youth with more organized policy which will be implemented not only in the capital, but all over the regions of Armenia as well.

Each of us bears responsibility for his/her future, for the future of their children and country. So let’s carry the mission of changemakers with dignity…
