SANTA CLAUS STARTS 466 MILLION KILOMETRE JOURNEY
As children worldwide excitedly await, Santa Claus has departed from his home on Korvatunturi Fell in Finnish Lapland on the first leg of a journey, it’s been calculated, that will take him 466 million kilometres, Yle.fi reports.
The Finnish science magazine Tiede has calculated that Santa has a long haul ahead, once again. According to its calculations, in order to visit each and every child in the world, his Christmas Eve route will take him 446 million kilometres.
In traditional fashion, the jolly old elf set off in good time on Sunday, in a sled pulled by real reindeer.
