PRESIDENTS DISCUSSED ARMENIAN-AUSTRIAN RELATIONS
As part of his working visit to Vienna, Austria President Serzh Sargsyan has met with his counterpart, Heinz Fischer.
According to the Armenian leader’s official website, the two presidents have discussed the bilateral relations agenda and regional and international developments. They addressed, among other things, the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks and the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders’ recent talks over the process (held in capital Vienna earlier today).
The sides agreed that the trade-economic cooperation and the cultural and educational ties between the two friend countries have a big potential of development in the light of the existing high-level political dialogue. They both admitted that the mutual visits and active business contacts, as well as the Armenian-Austrian intergovernmental commission’s efforts are highly important for fully using that potential.
President Sargsyan stressed the importance of the Austrian leader’s 2012 visit to Armenia, noting that it will promote to the future deepening and strengthening of the bilateral friendship.
At the end of the meeting, Mr Fischer invited the Armenian leader to visit Austria in 2014. President Sargsyan has accepted the invitation with pleasure.
